So this week, Mother Nature wanted to remind us folks in Boston that the winter is a comin’ and I am not a real fan of that. The week also saw the start of Movember where I’ll be growing a mustache for charity. If you’d like to help support the cause, click the Movember banner on the right-hand side of t he page or click here. If you donate a certain amount I will send you some goodies (more). Hopefully your week was more eventful. Here’s this week’s edition of Five for Friday.
Facebook Adds “Unlike Page” Button to Page Stories – While it is not the dislike button that we’ve all wanted for years, this is a great tool added by facebook. Not only does it allow users to opt-out of pages that they object to easily, but it also keeps companies honest. If you SPAM, you can believe you will be removed from the brands I like, so keep it conversational and human.
The Impending Data Deluge – My buddy Keith Trivitt just got back from the PRSA conference and saw a lot of talk about data. I love me some data, but the question is what are you going to do with it? The responses are worth looking at for a good discussion.
How Cisco defines business-to-business social-media success … and achieves it – I can’t even fathom manning 100 Twitter accounts let alone adding on 26 fan pages and 300 YouTube channels, but then again, I am not Cisco. This article breaks down how they look at social media and its definitely worth a look.
How real time communications drives measurable ROI at Fortune 100 companies – This is an interesting post with an accompanying video and ebook about how the Fortune 100 responds to their constituents in real-time. I don’t want to play the role of spoiler, but some kick ass and the others, well you’ll see. Click here for the eBook.
the indie effect – Do you think of yourself as a salesperson? Well like it or not, you are in some way shape or form. This piece from Danny Brown offers how he got to this current outlook of things in social media and PR; do you have a similar story?
