For the regular readers of this blog, please forgive the rant that is about to ensue. Earlier today, I headed out of the condo to drive into work. Much like each of the past work days for the past six months, the fire lane behind our building has been filled with cars, trucks and vans that are working on the L/R Construction project on Cummings Road in Brighton for the Koellel of Greater Boston Project.
Growing up working with my stepdad’s construction company, I learned that while planning a project you are supposed to plan for parking, especially working in a city. For most of this project they have simply blocked off spots on the street, without city permits, and also parked in the fire lane behind our building.
Our management company had spoken with them about parking there months ago, however when giving an inch the company took a mile and blocked off our dumpster today, which happened to be trash day. Supposedly, our management company is talking to them tomorrow.
We’ll see what happens. Until then, here’s a video of the cars parked in the fire lane along with the blocked off spots on the street.
