By the time you read this, I will be on the road to the Jersey Shore for a childhood friend’s wedding. My wife has never been to the shore so I may have to stop by Seaside to show her where the fist bumping places are at. I may need to video tape this as she may go into shock as on top of fist bumping, she’s never seen a beach with a Jersey-style boardwalk. Competitors on Twitter: Evaluate With Your Eyes Wide Open – Deirdre Breakenridge offers some insights as to what you should be looking at on Twitter. Now she’s not cooking with retweets and followers. Sure those are two important things to look at, but you also need to watch what your competitors are doing. Close the gap and borrow things that they are doing well, and if you are the leader, be sure to widen the gap with this intel.

Social Media Be its Own Job in Five Years? – This post plays both sides of the fence as to whether or not social media will be its own job in five years. It is something that I disagree with as there are many jobs that are pure social media now. What do you think?
6.7% of all US online ad spending to go toward social networks this year – While this number is big, I wonder if the added spend will see companies pay less attention to the conversation and more to the dollars and cents. Would be a damn shame if that came to fruition.
