Over the past year, I’ve been fortunate to interact with a number of awesome folks and build up a community that has a wide array of knowledge that I truly cherish. Some people I’ve met in person, while others are my online buddies who seem closer than some of my everyday peeps. I’ve also seen a lot of posts touting “must follow” lists of people that influenced them over the year. However instead of focusing on the luminaries of the social media and celebrity space that utterly dominate the lists I’ve scanned, my list is going to focus on people who have helped me out, made me laugh as well as offering valuable feedback and contributions to the community as a whole. So without further adieu, I give you Jeff Esposito’s 20 Folks to Follow in 2010 (in no particular order). You can also follow the list in its entirety here.

FenwayWest – I read a lot of sports blogs, forums and chats, however none of them give me the breaking news than this bastion of knowledge from this bastion of unlimited Sox knowledge. The Fenway West blog also offers all of year-round baseball anecdotes, hot stove and polls that any baseball fan can digest.

ShitMyDadSays – If you can’t laugh at Justin’s dad’s anecdotes, you aren’t human. If you don’t know, Justin lives with his 73-year old papa and Tweets out the stuff he says. There have been some rumblings that this has landed him a TV gig as well.

MikeSchaffer – I met Mike in a conversation thread on #prbc. Since then, he’s always willing to share in the knowledge and since then have been chatting regularly and participating in his #sportsprchat. Mike also blogs over here.

KeithTrivitt – Keith is one of the many talented bloggers over at the PR Breakfast Club. Over the past six months we’ve interacted on a number of posts on both of our blogs and also collaborated on a crossover post.

Chaotic_Barb – One of my roles at Vistaprint is blogger outreach. Over the past two years, I have been lucky enough to

interact with a number of great people, but Barb stands out as the master facilitator. After working on a number of reviews together, she added me to a post called PR peeps I recommend and since then have been connected to a number of other bloggers from that post. She also gives me straight answers and is always there as a sounding board.

FireMom – Jenna blogs over at Stop, Drop and Blog and as her name implies she is the matriarch of a fire family. Like Barb, she is a member of the blog network and is a person I am happy to have built up a friendship with. I feel like I know more about child-rearing and time management just from checking out the nuggets that Jenna tweets.

Delightful_Toni – Perhaps the best blogger that Barb put me in contact with is Toni. She blogs over at Delightful Chaos and is always ready to help provide a mixture of quick-wit and charm each day. She is also a great advocate on Twitter for folks asking Vistaprint questions that come in while I am in meetings or out for the day.

Aerocles – Dave Teicher aka Aerocles was one of the first people that I interacted with on Twitter. Since then we’ve had a number of engaging conversations and he’s one of the best sounding boards that you could ask for, whether it is a SM project or just a random idea for a post.

AlexAizenberg – Alex has written some of the more interesting blog posts over the past year at Iron Mountain in a Concrete Jungle. How many people can you say successfully compare social media to skydiving? I thought so.

FakeAPStylebook – How many times have you been frustrated with AP style? Chances are it is a lot. This account offers some funny takes on the book daily.

OGOchoCinco – While I said that this list was going to be celebrity free, Chad Johnson OchoCinco is just too damn funny. His tweets range from the daily minutia to trash talking. He’s even taken some lucky Bengals fans out to dinner via Tweet. Now this doesn’t make me a fan of his, he just makes me laugh. I hate the Bengals.

EvilPRGuy – Not to be confused with the saintly PR guy, Michael Dolan is a Jersey guy straight down to Dickey D’s hot dogs. This cyclocross racer is always tossing out some links that have a cynical feel to them if not dark humor. He’s also shared some great travel pics from places like a Leafs’ game.

DannyBrown – Danny is a rare blend of class and knowledge – kind of like a good scotch. We’ve shared out headaches over Facebook’s idiotic policies and lack of support as well as some general PR pitfalls. He is always ready to share his take and offer is opinion over the twitter sphere or on his blog or promoting 12for12K.

Kottavio – This 23-year old PR pro is like a transformer “more than meets the eye,” but she can tell you more about what I mean if you ask. She’s also been known to have multiple personalities but is one of my kid sisters online. Her posts on PR Breakfast Club are always insightful and thought provoking.

Stina6001 – A self-professed voice of reason who can dish it as good as she takes it. Like Keith and Kate, she’s an author over at the breakfast club. A native of Strong Island you should ask her about books – she loves them. She’s also one of the voices of reason who will instantly tell me if I am being an ass or dumb.

IamKhayyam – I met Khayyam during the 2009 Inbound Marketing Summit where he was holding court on the Twitter flow screens with some outlandish and overall humorous Tweets, well worth checking out for some great posts and overall entertainment.

CubanaLAF – Lauren Fernandez is one of the more knowledgeable folks that I’ve conversed with and is hell bent on making LAF (her blog) one of the top buzzwords in 2010.

ArikHanson – Perhaps the mort interesting interaction that I had with Arik was about pitching mom bloggers. However his blog is filled with posts that are both insightful and thought provoking. He’s currently running an interesting feature with college kids and getting them involved with the site. He also possesses a plethora of PR knowledge.

CargillCreative – When I first started experimenting with social media, Bob worked with me at Vistaprint. Since then, he’s been an inspiration, mentor and sounding board for the ideas that I am looking to do. Bob also has an award-winning blog that he’s recently started back up.

BostonMarketer – Rachel Levy is possibly one of the hardest working gals in the SM game. Ever since I started up in the space she’s been at the forefront of pushing initiatives, hosting tweetups and hosting webinars. It’s kind of funny that we’ve been at the same events and have yet to cross paths, maybe in 2010. If you’re looking for a good read, check out her blog.

PRCog – Although I still don’t know his true identity, the Cog is the chief bottle washer behind the PR Breakfast Club. We’ve had conversations on a variety of subjects but started out discussing the morality of dedicating a certain Nine Inch Nails song to people. He may be the person I may connect with the most across the SM sites. One of these we’ll meet up, but when that happens, look out.
