I know that I am late to the party on this one, so forgive me on that one. It is however a great example of being ready for a PR maelstrom in the case that a promotion runs awry.

Now I am sure that Popeyes was not expecting this many people coming out for a $4.99 8-piece chicken meal. However they should have been better prepared for the amount of people that could have shown up. It’s not like frozen chicken goes bad or anything and could have fried it up another day.
There is also the possibility that they wanted the media attention to draw interest in their franchises in this down economy. Remember All news is good news after all.
