A few weeks back I read a TIME article on how the poor economy has contributed to a boom in reality TV with shows like Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and American Restoration. The premise of folks looking to save or make money on household items that are just collecting dust. I didn’t think of it too much until my wife and I were looking for a bouncer for our son, scouring yard sales and the like for one.
One thing that struck me on this was that there is really no online resource to do this easy, because if there was I surely would have done it. Do you think the craptastic economy and social graph growth will lead to a peer-to-peer e-commerce platform similar to flea markets or yard sales?

There is a new site to do just that. It’s called Gangaroo.com and you can discover, discuss and sell stuff to your friends without the scare of Craigslist or the hassle of eBay. (I am involved in the company). Create collections of your stuff, mark what’s for sale, build a network of friends via FB, LinkedIn or email addresses. Then you can share private messages to work out a deal and a place to exchange. There are currently no costs to use the system. Good luck!
