Now while I like the video's embrace of the Flash Mob, I wonder if it is a sustainable marketing tool. For starters, other competing brands are seen in the video - Macy's and Sacks - in a natural setting. Do you want to give the competition more face time? I would also assume that the kids were wearing H&M gear - but I can't be sure.
The folks at JibJab are at it again. What started with a bunch of dancing elves has now turned into an Olympic figure skating application. Wonder if the Jay and Conan launch will help the Figure Skating Starring You go viral. Personally I would have gone with Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding, at least there was some real bloodshed. Well I will still hold out for the masturbating bear mauling Leno.
Earlier today, I came across this article in Social Media Today that dubbed VW's Swedish Piano Stairs video the most ever with over 7M views along with a giant number of Tweets and blog posts on it. Click here to see the full breakdown of the statistics.
The holidays must be upon us, the turkey isn't even in the grocer's freezer yet, but its full-tilt Christmas season for advertisers with OfficeMax's annual launch of Elf Yourself. Granted, I think the whole thing is quite corny as hell, it is also an annual viral hit that has gotten them a lot of ink and links back to their site.
A few weeks back I came across an offer online for a free pack of hot dogs from Oscar Mayer. The offer was to
celebrate a taste test win over Hebrew National and it tied into Memorial Day. I didn't concern myself any of this nonsense as I was blinded by my love of the mixed meat treats.
