Five for Friday 9.3

Are you creating social media scorched earth? – this post truly inspired me as many companies see a new shiny toy with a low entry point in terms of cost as a quick win. This risk vs. reward for companies often overlooks the long-term bond with customers in favor of a quick win. This can burn bridges and result in the scorched earth. Will you help your company avoid this?

Five for Friday 8.27.10

For a short week, it seemed like this week lasted forever. Despite being in meetings and away from my desk, I feel like the week was a very productive one. I am also glad to say that Scott Stratten's book Unmarketing came out this week and I am featured in it talking about Vistaprint's social media strategy. A book review is coming in the next few weeks, but if you want to check it out for yourself, click here to get it for less (Amazon affiliate link). How about you? How was your week?

Social Media Integration for Non-Profits

I always like to share presentations that I find interesting. It is even more enjoyable when the presentation can help a great cause and was done by a good friend. Check out this great presentation from Mike Schaffer on integrating social media for non-profits.

Five for Friday 8.20

Competitors on Twitter: Evaluate With Your Eyes Wide Open - Deirdre Breakenridge offers some insights as to what you should be looking at on Twitter. Now she’s not cooking with retweets and followers. Sure those are two important things to look at, but you also need to watch what your competitors are doing. Close the gap and borrow things that they are doing well, and if you are the leader, be sure to widen the gap with this intel.

Five for Friday 8.12

Five StarThis past week, my wife got on a kick of saying she wished it were fall. Now while I am a fan of the cooler weather, fall also means that the winter is not too far behind in New England. Which is never a good thing. This was a busy week for me and I am slowly getting out of "To-Do List" hell, just in time for the weekend. If you are in the Boston area or will be next Thursday night, be sure to check out the CoTweetup with the folks from CoTweet. I will be on a panel discussing engagement on the corporate level including best practices, tools and some measurement. Hope to see you there and without further adieu, here is this week's edition of Five for Friday.
