With the new show on the Discovery Channel show Pitch Men, two of the country’s best product hawkers show their skills showcasing some oddball products. These guys show that they can sell ice to an Eskimo, it also made me wonder how other starts are at hawking goods. The first one that comes to mind is Michael Jordan who is the ultimate pitch man, from McDonalds to underwear, he can sell ‘em all. The same can’t be said for his brothers in sweats,who may have skills on the gridiron, hardwood or diamond, but lack the charisma of his Airness.

Below is a list of the lackluster performances that left sponsors wondering where their dollars went to.

I have seen this video a number of times over the past week and can honestly say that it is very funny and also very relevant. The overall ideal of Twitter is great in small doses, like IM’s to all of your friends at once. A chat room with no boundaries, however this lack of boundaries also has its downside much like pointed out from the non-tweeting character.

Twitter is filled with individuals that SPAM the site, self-hyped cyber celebrities and companies finding the right way to use the platform for their business. Some have it right others, not-so-much…I’d like to think that I am on the right track for my company’s feed, but who knows I may be horribly wrong.

The video also paints a picture of those who haven’t given the service a chance or just do not understand it. I often find it hard to explain to people, from my fiance to co-workers and peers in other industries.

They claim that Twitter is a fad. Maybe they are right, but here’s to them being wrong.
