Glowing bugs, dark posts & Trader Joe’s

Happy Good Friday everyone! I still find it funny that the date of this Catholic holy day shifts as much as it does each year. Back in 1981, I was born on the day, but it was in the second week of April, not the last week of March. While many of you will be working today, I’ll be spending the day home sick and watching my son whose daycare was closed today (we just found out yesterday). I couldn’t think of a better way to close out a hectic and mildly frustrating week? Hopefully you had a better one and have some good plans for the weekend. Be safe and I’ll catch you on Monday – until then, enjoy this week’s edition of Five for Friday.

Glowing Millipedes Accidentally Found on Alcatraz – it’s been said that ghosts haunt Alcatraz, whether you believe it or not is up to you. What can’t be debated is that the place does have some glowing creepy crawlies.

Rejecting Walmart Strategy, Trader Joe’s Pays Employees A Living Wage And Wins – an interesting look at Trader Joe’s, which makes me happy for shopping there every now and then.

Austin Electric Cab Co wins long, inspiring battle against City – this is a great read on fighting the man. I saw these cabs rolling around Austin during SXSW and thought it seemed pretty smart. I respect them more after reading this article that a friend from Texas shared with me.

Unpublished Page Post Ads: 10 Reasons Why Advertisers Are Flocking – I really dig the concept of Dark Posts from Facebook. If you manage a page, you should definitely be keeping your eyes on them.

5-Year-Old Girl Discovers New Species Of Dinosaur; Scientists Name It After Her – this girl is now a BOSS and no one can say anything to her about it… she has a dinosaur named after her – instant playground cred.
