While I read this book months ago, I just got it back from a friend and am considering it as a time filler and overall good read as I wait for baseball to start back up. The book paints the behind the scenes Cowboys just as we’d expect them – wild, crazy and with enough blow to put Columbia to shame. Definitely check it out.
Boys will be Boys, a video book review
A**-hole-ol-o-gy a video book review
Given the title of this book, there will be big kid words used. If you are offended by the, please check back tomorrow or browse some of my other posts that may suit you better.
This is my video book review of Assholeology: The Science Behind Getting Your Way – and Getting Away with it (Amazon Aff. Link) from Chris Illuminati, Dennis LaValle and Stephen B. Green. The book is an interesting self-help guide to becoming an AH. It is a quick read that provides laughs and some great tips to getting what you want in your life – only caveat is that you may be called an AH. I would check it out if you need a good laugh.
The Rise of PR, a video book review
This is my video book review of The Fall of Advertising and the Rise of PR from Al and Laura Ries. Now I found the book on a list of books to live 2010 by. It is a good book for reflection and thinking on new ideas and concepts more than the case studies, it is from 2002 so they are somewhat outdated. I got it used from a college book store so I also have some fun with highlighted passages.
The Five People You Meet in Heaven – a video review

It has been a few months since I read a book that was a.) fiction and b.) non work career development driven. Many folks told me I simply needed to have fun and really relax. So I figured, hey what the hell, but couldn’t figure a book that I should pick up.
That was until walked into our building’s laundry room and looked at a book that was sitting on the free pile. It was Mitch Albom’s The Five People you Meet in Heaven. I have wanted to read this book for a while now, but never got around to it, so this gave me an excuse to check it out. Granted the book is pure fiction, but I took away an important thing from it that I am going to try to implement in my life both personally and professionally – stopping to enjoy the little things. One of my biggest problems is that I don’t enjoy the everyday successes and dwell to much on the losses. So you could call it a belated new year’s resolution courtesy of Mitch Albom.
Get Seen – A video review
Steve Garfield’s Get Seen (click here if you can’t view the video) is a great book to pick up for novices and experts alike in the realm of video. On top of being a helpful how-to on all things Web video related, the book also walks you through setting up blogs to host the video.
The tips within the book helped get this video picked up by both CNN and the BBC. If only the BBC would send me the link, bloody wankers. So if I can do it, so can you.
Hell, my cat Mookie is even a fan. You can pick up your copy for less by visiting this link (ad) – Get Seen: Online Video Secrets to Building Your Business (The New Rules of Social Media)
