Beyond Viral, a video review

When Wiley sent me a copy of Beyond Viral to review, I didn’t know what to expect. The only thing that I knew was certain was that Kevin Nalty (or Nalts as he’s known on YouTube) had declared viral video dead a few years ago.

After reading, I took away some key nuggets including:

  • Why partnering with an established Web-star may be better than going on your own (hint some have better audiences than prime time TV shows)
  • Viral is a misnomer when applied to videos
  • How to try to make a successful video
  • Passion can lead to a full time gig
  • Nuances of the YouTube community

Here’s my video review of the book (click here if you can’t view).

I would suggest checking the book out in tandem with Steve Garfield’s Get Seen.
